The Gospel Project: Alive with Christ, I Corinthians 15

How might you summarize the whole story of the Bible in just a few words?

That is a tough request! John 3: 16-18 is a good place to start and I like using the Word to try to summarize the whole of God's Word.

Our lesson this week uses I Corinthians 15.

Here Paul is inspired by the Holy Spirit to summarize it. Let's dive in and see.

Point 1: The Good News of Christ's Resurrection. I Cor. 15:1-8

"Paul reiterates the CORE Gospel message = The Good News: Christ died for our sins and was raised to life again, and this according to the Scriptures." He speaks to remind the Corinthians of the fact that our Lord is Resurrected, he gives them instances of Christ's visit with individuals, groups, and finally himself.

Remember these witnesses and don't get discouraged!

In verses 3 and 4, Paul says, "...according to the Scriptures..." Why is this important to state.

"How should we view and read the Old Testament in light of these words and this explanation?"

Various Old Testament Scripture is considered Messianic, such as:

Isaiah 53

Psalm 16

Jonah 1

Hosea 6

Look over these and consider how they have told the story of Christ throughout the centuries!
