The Gospel Project, Unit 23, Session 3
Jesus Teaches about Prayer.
Point 2: Pray with Faith in God. Luke 11:9-13
Point 3: Pray with Persistence to God. Luke 18:1-8
The words in verse 9, A.S.K.
"ask and it will be given to you,
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you. "
Each of these really has "ing" at the end...don't just pray once and expect it to be. Ask frequently, as you keep praying: asking, seeking knocking you will find what you were praying for wasn't what you really wanted, needed, or even appropriate.
Read verses 13, How many times have I skimmed over these Words? But this time, I caught it!, "...how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask."
So, today I start asking, seeking, knocking for the Holy Spirit!♥️🙏🤗
Not one time...Persistence is translated from the Greek word for "shamelessness"! The example of the widow before the ungodly judge, Luke 18:1-8. Look at Christ's concern in vs. 8, When He comes; will He find Faith on the Earth? In the strange new reality we a living in...God is not blindsided, He knows, He is still in His Holy Heaven and Christ is still at His Right Hand!
Let's pray SHAMELESSLY! Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking for the Holy Spirit. Let's make sure that we are Faithful; so Christ finds Faith when He Returns!
